10th Class 6 Basic Trigonometric Functions

Trigonometry is one of the divisions in mathematics which helps in finding the angles and missing sides of a triangle with the help of trigonometric ratios. It is measured in radians or degrees. Trigonometric functions are very important in our studies; these are the building blocks of our studies. These trigonometric functions help us a lot and are very useful.

SinA: The length of the opposite side to A is divided by the length of hypotenuse is known as sinA

sinA=Opposite side to A =Cos(90-theta)=sinA
Hypotenuse

CosA: The length of the adjacent side to A is divided by the length of the hypotenuse is known as cosA.

cosA=Adjacent side to A =SinA(90-theta)=cosA
Hypotenuse

TanA: The length of the opposite side to A is divided by the length of the adjacent side to A is known as tan A

tanA=Opposite side to A =CotA(90-theta)=tanA
Adjacent side to A

CosecA: The length of the hypotenuse is divided by the length of the opposite side to A is known as cosecA

Cosec A= Hypotenuse =Sec(90-theta)=cosecA
Opposite side to A

SecA: The length of the hypotenuse is divided by the length of the adjacent side to A is known as secA

SecA=Hypotenuse =cosec(90-theta)
Adjacent side to A

CotA: The length of adjacent side to A is divided by the length of opposite side to A is known as cot A

Cot=Adjacent side to A =Tan(90-theta)=cotA
Opposite side to A

Conclusion:

The above mentioned are the 6 basic trigonometric functions which are very useful for higher studies and are very simple and easy to learn. In 10th class or in higher studies it’s very important to learn and there are many more trigonometric functions to learn.
